About Ben

Hello!  I’m Ben, a professional pianist, organist and conductor based in Market Harborough, where I live with my wife and our two (soon to be three!) young children.  I’m passionate about sharing my love of music with students of all ages and levels - whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your playing to the next level.

I first fell in love with the piano at the age of five, listening to the teacher play in assembly at my primary school in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.  I was instantly captivated and begged my parents for a piano.  They found a second-hand one, and with the help of a local teacher, I began what would become a lifelong journey in music.

That early passion led me to the Junior Department at Birmingham Conservatoire, where I studied piano, organ, saxophone, and conducting.  I went on to hold an organ scholarship at Cambridge University and continued my piano studies at the Royal Academy of Music.

Since then, I’ve built a career as a conductor and pianist in the West End and on national and international tours.  Some of my favourite projects have included Les Miserables, Chicago, Hairspray, Jersey Boys and Oliver!, along with many productions at Leicester’s Curve Theatre.  I’m currently working on Tina - The Turner Musical in London’s West End.

Having returned to Leicestershire, I’m excited to be offering high-quality personalised piano tuition here in Market Harborough.  I aim to create a welcoming, enjoyable space for learning, drawing on my years of professional experience to help students develop strong technique, musical understanding, and - most importantly - a real love for the instrument.
